Checked in to the LaQuinta in Layton, UT which I came to find out is company owned which only makes this experience even more horrific.

First on the lighter side, the property was dirty, walls and molding, stained carpets...

We had put over 12 hours on the road, checked in and ordered take out at the restaurant next door. We could hear people out in the hall as they walked by.

Around 11pm there was a noise at the door and our 10 month old Welsh Corgi barked. About 15-30 minutes later there was a loud sound and the door was slammed open. Fortunately my wife had put the extra door guard on. She jumped out of bed and slammed the door shut.

There was never a knock before opening, there was no phone call before the forced entry.

About 5 minutes later the phone rang and I answered it and was aggressively accused of occupying the room. This made the situation worst for us. My wife spent from midnight to 4pm holding our puppy as she was trembling and unable to sleep.

That morning in confronting the front desk they had no knowledge of the incident and their manner in responding to me only made things worst, quite something given our feelings prior to the beginning of the discussion.

We were told it was hotel management that aggressively opened the door unannounced. There was no apology, recognition of how upset we were.

It is three days later as I write this and am still have significant emotional reactions. My attempt to get in contact with keith.cline@***.com, the President were unsuccessful. I called his office 6-8 times and never received a return call until I got one from customer service. The agreement I made with that individual was not followed up in the manner in which he promised me he would.

Furthermore, this came at the end of a wonderful celebration of our son's wedding and now will infect the lovely experience and memory for a very long time.

As a corporate facility, it speaks volumes as to how this motel change is managed, operated and how they treat clients who have been so egregiously treated.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Location: Rye, Colorado

You could have dialed 911 and reported an attempted break-in---after you called the front desk and received no adequate response. However, trying to reach the corporate president is, and no doubt will be an exercise in futility as I assume your email to him went into his spam folder or was thrown out by his assistant who manages that email address.

He uses another, private email for his personal use and the one given out to the public is rarely, if ever read by him. Just remember not to stay at a LaQuinta in the future.

Hope you got to see some of the beautiful scenery in Utah. We go often in the autumn.
